Aquabox was chosen as a sustainably profitable stormwater management solution for SIVE, the urban hygiene services company in the Province of Verona, Italy.
Aquabox was used to construct two stormwater retention tanks at a shallow excavation depth of only 2.2 m, with two layers of Aquabox modules:
- Tank 1, with a capacity of 477 m³ and a surface area of 310.5 m²,
- Tank 2, with a capacity of 249 m³ and a surface area of 162 m²,
The use of Aquabox for stormwater management enhanced the project’s sustainable profitability through:
- Improved water retention: Aquabox has a 96% void ratio, 3 times more than gravel,
- Reduced basin volume: requires 3 times less excavation, saving space, materials, labor, and time,
- Manual setup: minimal machinery streamlines construction, reduces energy use, and enhances worker safety,
- Simplified logistics: 75 times fewer truckloads than gravel for the same basin size.
